TCC volunteers donated food for needy people & sponsored a dinner at New Horizons – July 26, 2014
In the last days of the Month of Ramadan, on Saturday, July 26th, the Turkish Cultural Center-NH volunteered with Embrace Relief Foundation at the New Horizons in Manchester. We had a dozen volunteers who helped unload non-perishable foods to the food bank and then helped serve dinner to just over 200 people. New Horizons feeds those who can’t afford to feed themselves and is open 365 days a year, no matter what the weather is outside.
Ramadan, the sultan of the 11 months, is the period of time where most aids and charities are done. Philanthropists are helping both domestic and internationally, making this month fertile for needy people.
Our volunteers helped dish the food on to the plates and they serve as wait staff in bringing all the guests their dinner. Men, women and children enjoyed the hot meal that was sponsored by the Turkish Cultural Center-NH.
